Wait for Social-izing

Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Batchmates and recently launched Orkut all are known, happening and yes next Social-izing platforms…

Often I see some Groups on these sites or profile posts carrying a post which is about a cause. Just taste it, “Help find a donor for a particular Blood Group”. And other people posting their numbers, emails to help that cause. Welcome to new world of Social Media.

The world is changing and resistance is futile. And if you try to limit the people by some policy, it won’t help at all.

Most companies, festivals and events should aim to build upon this new buzz which is running across social media sites. I’m not sure if this is a clever “exclusive” strategy or a perfect Online Marketing.

Policing should be saved for “professional”, i.e., it is better to be served in corporates (maybe Enterprise 2.0 is the answer)

Organic Search or Paid Search

A study conducted by Engine Ready based on an analysis of 20.8 million visits and 108 million page views to 26 e-commerce sites from July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009 revealed that Paid search visitors bought the most, with an average order value of $117.06 versus $109.27 for those coming from other sites, $106.64 for visitors from organic search and $95.29 from direct referrals, such as from a bookmark or direct entry of a URL.

This celarly shows that visitors who arrive at a retailer’s site from paid search ads are 50% more likely to buy than those who come from clicking on a natural search link.

10th happened – Lohia Group is now an entry…

Dear Prasenjit Das ji, Respected Anurag Lohia ji are all away to USA trip and by end of week wouldn’t be back.

Mr. Das even asked me to rethink on all aspect.

Anyway, meeting with my reporting boss – Mr. Amit Agarwal was a smooth ride, he even asked me to have lunch with him.

But as it would be my last day at Kanpur being in Lohia Group, Chaubepur; I opted for having last supper { :)  } with my team, the team which have stood with me, the team which listened to me.

By Lunch time, email was shot by Mr. Amit to all management team.

Everyone was shocked, as no one knew about it.

Anyway, after Lunch I was back, surrendered my laptop made him aware of all the issues, security details andall finer details of the dream project to Mr. Amit.

Team members kept on calling me but I chose not to pick.

Mr. Suyash, now a lifetime friend and Ms. Roma came all the way to Management block to meet me up.

Really an Emotional moment.

Mr. Amit also made sure to see me off and arange for a vehicle to take me to Railway Station.

Lohia Group – adieu

Divine Wellness – a Good Luck auf wiedersehen

10th happened – Lohia Group is now an entry in my CV…

Divine Wellness – surely close to heart project but…

Today feeling nostalgic.

Everyone asking me Why Now for another MBA, when you have such a good job, where you have started, deployed the project like a true team leader.

Ans: Having a total of 7+ years and not so good package to back me up but surely with Masters degree in Management on which I can build upon this question was asked to me by my parents and that too at a marriageable age of me, this question I have answered so many times and with one meaning only that education is a continuous experience and if I will not keep myself sharpened with new skill sets I will be missing my own tipping point.

On 10th of August, I have been told that a final hearing would be given to me.

Finally allowed to leave and go ahead with SOIL

It has been a tough decision.

Being part of education industry (while my 2 years stint at Princeton Review: Manya Abroad earlier to current job with Lohia Group), got to know the real meaning of quality education though being armed with MMS degree 5 years back, I was really in awe with vision and the didactics of SOIL.

Secondly, the entrepreneurial part of the curriculum was the real mind turner for me.

Being an entrepreneur (a failed one yet), I really feel something I need to learn.
